Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an Interactive Brokers account?
Yes, for all plans including FREE. SpreadSearch connects to your local IB Gateway to access real-time market data. You'll also need IB's US Equity and Options market data subscriptions (~$14.50/month total via IB). SpreadSearch does not provide or resell market data.
What's the difference between FREE and PRO?
FREE gives you the full scanning experience on up to 3 tickers — live data, all scan depths, full Greeks. It's genuinely useful for evaluating the tool and monitoring a small watchlist. PRO removes the ticker limit and adds alerts and CSV export, turning SpreadSearch into an automated part of your daily workflow.
Does SpreadSearch execute trades?
No. SpreadSearch is purely an analytics platform. We identify opportunities and provide analysis, but you execute all trades manually through your own broker. This keeps us regulatory compliant and gives you full control.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. PRO is month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Cancel anytime from your account settings.
Is there a trial period?
The FREE plan is available permanently — no trial period needed. You can use it indefinitely with live data on up to 3 tickers. PRO will offer a 7-day trial once it launches.
When will PRO be available?
The desktop application with full PRO features is scheduled for Q2 2026. Join the waitlist on the Download page to be notified at launch.
